Awful Time with Honeybun's Family (2/2)
Honeybun's family tried to cheer me up. I did my best to smile, and right when I was beginning to enjoy myself, Honeybun and I were left to care for his grandmother who can't walk without assistance. They all went ahead, leaving us with his (incredibly sweet) grandmother alone. Honeybun was so pissed off he left me with his grandma to go smoke with his brother. I barely saw him after that. One of the young cousins (6-years-old) was shivering from the cold. His jacket zipper was broken. I gave him my jacket and walked the last hour of the event freezing and supporting grandma by myself. I held it together as long as I could and swallowed my resentment.
Then, at the end, I couldn't find my car keys. Normally not a big deal, but the look of annoyance from everyone was the last straw. I sobbed. I knew they thought of me as a crybaby.
Honeybun was so annoyed at the night's events that he stayed the night and next day at his brother's. He needed time away from me. We didn't have our Christmas date.
I'm glad to be going to Louisiana for a week without him. Thinking is needed.
