beginning to see a speck of light....
It was a typical morning: I woke all knotted up, stumbled around, took meds, unknotted myself. I sat down to get some work done (I work from home on Mondays) and actually accomplished quite a lot.
I managed to make it to my first physical therapy session, and the guy did a bunch of tests on my range of motion and reflexes. He said what others have said: I'm all knotted up on the right side to compensate for the weakness there.
He ran me through three exercises, and sent me on my way.
I jumped on the train to the city where I work with two kids on Monday afternoon/evening. I had forgotten the ibuprofen I take at 4 pm each day (the late afternoon booster), so I bought a pack and downed it with some coffee.
As I went home on the subway a few hours later, I actually began to feel a tiny bit better: the intensity of the pain declined ever so slightly, and I was even able to walk off the train and back home (okay, it's only a few hundred feet, but many stairs) without squatting.
For me, that's a glimmer of hope, and that's all I can grasp.....
