Day 25

Critical Mass

On Friday, Honeybun and I participated in Critical Mass. It's a bicycling event that is held on the last Friday of every month across hundreds of cities around the world. I don't own a bike, so a friend let me borrow his, and Honeybun rode his little BMX bike.

We rode several blocks from his car to the starting point - me standing on the back spokes of the BMX bike and clinging for dear life to Honeybun while wearing a heavy backpack full of waterbottles, snacks, and a medical kit. It was fun riding on the back of his bike, and I was sure to whisper naughty things in his ear to encourage him while he peddled us uphill. ;)

We met our friend with the bike at the starting point, and around 7:00 PM we were off! It was a 3 & 1/2 hour ride with a 30-minute break at the halfway point. We laughed, we screamed when we rode through tunnels, we peddled until my legs and lungs felt like they were going to give out. At the end of it, our hearts were racing, our legs felt like jelly, and I couldn't stop giggling.

It was a great night.
