Day 166

Just Dance

Saturday evening Honeybun and I went to his cousin's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony, but I noticed very few people showed up compared to how many chairs had been put out. The only people from the groom's side of the family were us, Bear (and Raven), Honeybun's aunt, and the groom's parents. We were later told that many had RSVP'd "Yes," but just didn't arrive. Shameful, since the new bride and groom had paid for many meals to be served to guests who didn't show.

The reception was dull at first. The DJ was trying desperately to get people out on the dance floor, but nobody was having it. I had to get out there a few times alone to convince people to join in. Honeybun doesn't like dancing in public. He says he doesn't "know how to dance" and doesn't want to embarrass himself. Maybe one day he'll realize that almost nobody knows how to dance, and that it's just fun to move your body around and be silly. I'm a clumsy/awkward dancer, but it's still fun. I do wish he'd dance at least one song with me though. It was pretty lonely on that dance floor.

I saw a chance specifically for men who say they “can’t dance.” It’s all about getting comfortable with your body and shaking your self consciousness....
