Day 125

My Poor Honeybun

Honeybun is home ill today. Yesterday he had texted that he was feeling a little achy and had a sore throat. When I got home from work that evening, the poor thing was feeling miserable & half-asleep on the couch. This morning he still made it to work but was quickly sent home after he vomited in a trashcan next to his manager. He was so embarrassed and cleaned/sanitized the entire area before they were able to convince him to go rest. He's back home now while I'm at work. Last night I'd given him Emergen-C, ginger tea, a quick/hot dinner, and a nice Hot Toddy (minus the whiskey, which we didn't have).

Today I've instructed him to catch up on some rest, keep hydrated with water and ginger tea, and sit in a hot bath for his achy muscles. Will he do it? We'll see. But I'll be stopping by the store on my way home to pick up some Dayquil, Nyquil, a small bottle of whiskey, some IcyHot to help with the aches, and the ingredients to make my grandmother's "Sick Day Chicken Noodle Soup."

Hoping we close early today so I can get home sooner.

Chicken soup has magical properties; it has something to do with the combination of fat and protein; 5,000 years of Jewish mothers can't be wrong.....
