Rav Diablo's Real Life Dating Funnys!
There used to be a weekly newspaper in NYC called "The Village Voice." They had a comic called "Stan Mack's Real Life Funnies," and its tag line was "all dialogue guaranteed verbatim." Exactly as he overheard it.... here's my version.
"Hi, is this Debrah?"
"Yes, it is.... is this Rav?"
"Yes, how are you?"
(30 minutes of mindless conversation ensues)
Rav: "So, would you like to get together?"
'Debrah': "Sure! That would be fun."
Rav: "When would be a good time?"
'Debrah': "Well, I have to be home with my kid every night, so maybe Monday or Tuesday around noon?"
(Rav processes this: so you're want to date, but you have to be home with your kid every night, and you're only available on Mondays and Tuesdays at noon?????)
Rav: "Um, well, actually, I work on Mondays and Tuesdays at noon. In fact, I'm pretty sure most everybody who has a job is working at that time...."
'Debrah': "Oh, well, I'm sometimes free on Sundays for a few hours...."
Rav: "Sounds good. Well, let me get back to you...."
Rav deletes Debrah's contact information from his phone and wonders why there isn't some sort of law against allowing flakes like this on a dating site.
