The War Between My Bladder and Me...
That's an odd title, but it's completely true: my bladder and I are at war with one another. Due to the effects of the radiation, my bladder has become "overactive" and sends me signals that it desperately wants to go, even though it's not nearly full.
So what to do? Well, I'm in control here, so I have to say things to bladder. "Listen, I just emptied you an hour ago, so you'll have to wait a few more hours before I'll let you go again. So chill out, you urine filled bag of tissue!"
Other times I try combinations of drugs to calm it down. The doc suggested ibuprofen, so after a few tries, I found I could get it down by law with 600 milligrams, which keeps him quiet for 4 continuous hours.
Then I read a paper online about using a combination of acetominaphen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen, which is supposed to be a knockout combination. It worked alright: I got about 5 hours of peace while I went about my daily business.
So I'm trying that tonight: one tab of slow release acetominaphen, one tab of regular ibuprofen.
Good night, bladder, sleep tight! See you in the morning.... I hope....
