Day 698

These kisses I remember....

.... we were 13 years old, it was late summer, and I was walking you back to your cabin. We stood on a worn patch of grass, the coolness of the evening caressing us, and slowly we had our lips pressed against one another....

.... we were in the backroom of a bar, sharing a bench. You were shy; I couldn't get you to talk, and you kept pulling your sweater up over your mouth. At some point you let your guard down....

.... it was after we had gone to see the movie "Diner," and we had driven down to Horsehead beach and we were lying in the sand looking at the constellations....

.... we were leaving the restaurant, and it was a cold winter night. As I was helping with your coat, you leaned back....

.... we were pushed up against the back wall, listening to "Slavic Soul Party" on a humid August night. You were wearing a thin blouse, and I put my arms around you. We were swaying with the music, and you rested your head on my collar bone.....

.... we were saying goodnight after exchanging numbers on the corner of 9th Street, and you held my face.....
