Day 140

Weekend with Penguin (Part 2 of 2 - Baby Snuggins!)

I can't get into my work building without a keycard, which was in my purse. After Honeybun had calmed me down, I called building security. They agreed to bring my purse to me the next morning, as long as I was at the building by 6:00 AM. I left at 5:00 AM Saturday and, after retrieving my purse with many thanks, began my 4-hour journey. When I finally got there (10:30 AM), Penguin was excited to shove her new bundle-of-joy into my arms. He's such a sweet baby, and I loved all the snuggles! We played the same card game (called "Golf")... for 10 hours straight. She refused ideas to do anything else. By the end I thought I was going crazy. The next morning I hung out with her mom until she woke, and then we went to brunch. I had a very strong mimosa to maintain my patience. She talked about how she hates teaching (and children) but (and I quote exactly): "I'm not like you; I'm too smart, and I'm good at literally everything, so I don't know what job I'd like. It's so overwhelming." Then we played "Golf" another 2 hours before I left for home.

I don't know if I would drive 4 hours for this friend, but damned, that baby do look adorable!

runcicle - In her eyes, she already knows everything I guess. lol!
RavDiablo - He was the perfect cuddle companion for sure. However, I do not believe I will be making that trip again.

But you know something about her that she doesn't; and what you know is more important for her than all that she knows at present.

Until we know ourselves everything else is inconsequential.
