Welcome home, little tree
When I first met Luke and went to his apartment, the first thing that hit me was how tidy it was. No clutter, just shelves and shelves of books. I then saw two bonsai trees around the place.
This told me a few things about Luke; he loves to read and learn, and he loves to make things grow. He likes having living things around. I can relate to all of these things and therefore, my heart melted.
The only thing being, his bonsais have seemingly died over this winter. It's been brutal, even though I've seen them being watered generously and fed a lot. Either way, they shed their leaves and have seemed to stop growing.
That being said, I decided to look at some bonsai trees today at the Haskins garden centre while I was heading to Hobbycraft, and j found a beautiful Buddhist pine. It's an evergreen and it's beautiful. I got it and drove back to Luke's. I walked it around the apartment, showing it all the rooms etc. It felt silly but, considering it's going to sit in a large open bag in the cupboard for 6 days until Christmas, I figured it needed a little introduction. Bless.
