Day 141

I used to do yoga pretty regularly back when I was in college. It was a great way to decompress, and I had built up a fair amount of strength from it. I got pretty lazy once I graduated though, since I don't like to do yoga alone. I'd looked into joining a yoga studio, but they all started class by 5:00 PM, and I don't get home from work until 6:30.

However, a gym near me has recently opened and offers many different classes throughout the day, and what do I see on their calendar? Strength-building yoga classes offered at 7:15 PM three nights a week! I was thrilled. I'm hoping to go tour and feel the place out this week, and if I like what I see, I'll be joining. They also offer hydro-massage beds, dry saunas, steam rooms, and many other things for free with membership.

Maybe this is what I need to release the tension that's been building up. I feel so stiff lately, like I'm suffering from rigor mortis while still alive. It'd be nice to do something solely for my own wellbeing a few nights a week, rather than for someone else's.

Go for it! Sounds like you really lucked out .... of course, here in BK, there's a yoga studio on every corner: it's 23/7 yoga around here.... the other hour is for pilates, of course...

Haha! I can believe it. There were many similar studios in the college town I lived in. The whole "Hipster One-with-the-universe" vibe was so strong there. Now I live in the outskirts of a major city, and the pickings are slim. I stopped by the gym on my way home today to get a tour. It was so comfortable, and everyone was so friendly! I think I'll be stopping by there again tomorrow to sign up. :)
