Therapy

Just a Question today?
What do people on here think of Therapy?
Does it help dissect areas of life ?
How do you find a good one?
Are they expensive?
How often needed ?
Does it really make a difference?
I need to decide yes or no to Therapy ?

    I have been in therapy on and off for years and I absolutely recommend it. The hard part is finding one you vibe with. What you need from one will depend entirely on you but in my case mine has helped me dissect the reasons why I do the things I do and react in the ways I do. She helps me put things in perspective and at the same time not hide from my feelings. She never gives me advice or tells me what to do but helps me figure out on my own what path to take. If you’re open with your friends about it ask around for a recommendation. If not, roll the dice and make an appointment with one to chat. If you don’t feel it, move on to another.

    I haven't been in therapy for almost 2 years. There's a feeling you get when the therapist forces you to focus, and it enlightens your mood. On more than one occasion, I walked out my therapy appointment relieved of all stress and smiling because I had focus and a vision of what to do next. For me, the therapist simply agreeing with me is mostly all I needed. The therapist experience was wonderful, but the medications were always wrong & suicidal. Every therapist I've ever sat down with has dropped their jaw in utter shock hearing how toxic my upbringing was. Each one of them agreed that several people in my life do NOT deserve to be there.
