Day 295

Baby in NICU, mamma at home

We left him there yesterday evening in the best care there is. I know that. He will be fine. All the carers are AMAZING human beings and the way they look after all those preemie babies... Oh, it melts your heart.
I've done my third breast pump at home. Milk still isn't flowing like a milky waterfall, but I'm producing enough for one feed each time so I'm fairly pleased with myself. Gotta provide for my little man. It fills me with such a sense of pride and fulfillment, knowing yesterday he got his first full meals that were entirely from mamma. He's on formula until I get back with this next lot, and fingers crossed after this it'll all be mamma milk!
I can't wait to get in and see him. I'm tempted to go in for 7am. Get some more sleep, pump when waking up and get going! Gotta go see my baby.

Congratulations on the birth of your wee boy!
I know how hard it is to leave your little one in the NICU and it's a rollercoaster journey but sending lots of warm wishes to you both to keep fighting through. Hugs xxx

Thanks, LillyMae! It's unbelievable how much more you feel with these pregnancy hormones racing around. My husband is constantly distressed when he sees me crying, I have to tell him if they are happy tears, pain tears, hungry tears... You get the idea haha xx
