Try walking a mile in someone else's shoes...
...yada yada yada, something about compassion? Anyway, by the end of it you'll be a mile away from them and you'll have their shoes.
Trying this with my husband at the moment. I'm trying to be understanding, I'm trying to be calm, I'm trying to be supportive.
But watching him lose his logical mind every time the baby cries is starting to get too much. He gets overly emotional and stressed, shuts down, can't listen or communicate... There's no point in even trying to help him. He has to do it his way, even if that way causes more stress and upset. And that's exactly what we want to avoid with this little one!
There's no helping some people.
