Day 106

Feeling Light

It's Friday. A chilly, soaking wet Friday, and I'm in a quiet office. Yet somehow I feel like sunshine. Honeybun has pre-trial today (again - for the umpteenth time). Over 2 years later, and he's going through pre-trial /again/. His actual trial is supposed to start in a week, but who knows if it will actually happen. They've re-scheduled so many times - each for at least another 3 months away. Yet, with all of this, I still feel light. Maybe it's hope. Maybe it's faith. All I know is that I inexplicably feel great.

I am, however, itching to get home, grab a book, and curl up in the nook of my patio to read on this drearily wet day.

I'm a bit of a suspense junkie, and right now I'm reading Gillian Flynn's "Sharp Objects." It's... okay. Definitely not the same rush as "Gone Girl." However, if you really want a wild ride, I recommend "The Ruins" by Scott Smith. I love that book so much! The characters are so human that it's terrifying - if that makes any sense. If you're looking for something more philosophical, almost-spiritual, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is another favorite - mostly because of how quotable it is. :)
