Rav dreams of Percocet!
After 4 nights of near-non-sleep, I went to the doctor yesterday morning to explain my situation. He gave me a lesson on posture (apparently, I've been sitting all wrong for a very long time, and it certainly won't help with the sciatica unless I do something about it.
Then he wrote a script for steroids, which should gradually loosen the crushing grip of whatever's squeezing the living daylights out of my hip and leg.
Best of all? A scrip for 7 Percocet pills to erase the pain while I sleep at night. So I took one last night before I went to bed: 11 pm.
I slept like I never knew I could sleep before. My body was so relaxed, so removed from the pain that was plaguing it, that I might as well have disappeared from this early existence.
But, of course, a drug like Percocet only hangs around for so long; I awoke to a throbbing leg at 4 am, thrilled that I had slept 5 continuous hours.
I popped 600 mg of ibuprofen, slapped a mentholated pain patch on my shin, and managed to squeeze out another 3 hours.
Am now I'm ready for my second sleep.
