Day 94

Chemo is not fun

So I took my first of six chemo doses last week. I have six rounds each lasting six weeks to get through.
I'm on a mild course. It's one dose at the beginning of the cycle, along with some anti sickness pills, then wait.
I take them last thing at night, and despite being anxious about vomiting, I was not really nauseous at all.

Since then, I've been getting progressively more weary. This is expected, but I hadn't realised how debilitating it is to feel permanently on the edge of sleep. It's a bit like that feeling when you know you are going to come down with flu, but it's not quite struck yet.
Add to this occasional low level nausea, especially if I'm hungry, and my picture of misery is complete!

And I'm on a relatively gentle chemo course. I hate to thing what the full monty feels like.

No. chemo is not a walk in the park, but it will pass. Be gentle with yourself and look after yourself. It will pass. x
