Day 293

Feeling foxy

Chris contacted me today. No idea why. I don't know what the motivation is - our conversations are worse than the hyperbolic, scripted, awkward encounters of 2 strangers in an elevator in movies or sitcoms. We don't even chat about the weather, we chat about his doorbell.

That's not a euphemism, we literally spoke about his place having a new doorbell installed. I've no idea what he wants from me, but I don't know if I can keep this memory around when knowing how he makes me feel. It's just this constant reminder of things that I want. Things that I long for.

Anyway... I finally- FINALLY -have a Saturday off this weekend and I intend on doing some serious thrifting for old books and records all around Worthing. I can't believe I lived there for a while and didn't even try exploring the town. I only ever really walked along the beach and to the pier. I can't wait to see what curios I might find!

More crochet tonight, just a poncho in autumnal colours. It'll be the 7th I've made. I can't wait to post all my creations and sell them. The crazy crochet lady's shop, maybe? Hmmm.

Sometimes people are afraid to cut ties because it's nice to feel wanted, even if you know it wouldn't work. The feeling of "almost" and "maybe someday" feels like when I'm putting together a jigsaw puzzle and the piece in my hand looks exactly like what I need, but just won't fit. I'll keep coming back to it, hoping it has somehow changed shape ("Maybe if I turn it this way, it will be different") - even when I know better. It's frustrating to feel so close. Better to just leave that piece alone, out of sight, so you can look for the right one - otherwise it will be a distraction and you won't see the right piece when you come across it.

If you do sell your creations, be sure to share a link here! I've always been curious about crocheting - Is it as relaxing as it looks? Not sure if I'd have the patience or creativity required. lol!

I love that analogy (analogy?) Yes it's much like a puzzle that so badly wants to be finished but the pieces just don't fit the way you want them to.
Crocheting is extremely relaxing, I can't get enough of it. I'm thinking of possibly starting a little YouTube channel to teach the basics and to teach arigurumi (tiny toy crochet) xxx
