Went to the archaeological museum in Heraklion today and then on to Knossos. I loved the museum, full of beautiful things made some time around 2,000 BC. In Knossos we had a great guide, essential because the place is an indecipherable ruin of stones, traces of rooms and pathways. Our guide told us the Minoans had flushing loos, just like ours. We didn't see them. And baths the same shape and size as ours today, four long thousand years ago. They buried their dead in pots in a foetal position. The frescos were stunning, now in the museum. But the throne chair is still there, small and made of stone.
It's nice being here with Beloved. We are comfortable together. I just wish we didn't have to have sex.
