Day 103

The kindness of strangers

Due to a misunderstanding, I was by myself for a few hours when I'd been expecting to be involved in a meeting.

I was sitting with my back to a wall on the grass in a patch of sunshine basically waiting, unable to find anything constructive to do. My mood began to sink; I was pretty much useless, both for the misunderstanding and then not being able to be constructive with my time.

Various people walked past me, until a couple of female students stopped and asked me if I was ok.

This little act of kindness really touched me, and ensured that the rest of my day was actually better than ok.

I wish I'd said no, and had a conversation with them, but just the fact of them asking had changed me. I was ok, thank you very much for taking the time to check.
